I have begun working on a character thats going to be in a short animation for school, this first character will be some sort of assassin. I have just begun with the head and im pretty satisfied with it, ill tweak the eyes a little, then ill continue with the body. On to the pictures.
I have been working on a body for this character now i would really appriciate some help on how to do the breasts and any overall things that seems “wrong” anyway here is to renders and two wires
She doesn’t look that bad, so far. Just a couple things.
One. Make sure your upper and lower arms are roughly the same length from joint to joint, or you will HATE yourself later when you try to make her scratch her nose. Actually, the lower arm is a little shorter than the upper arm, but only by a bit, so just make it a few inches longer. See if you can make it so that when her arm gets folded the cup of her palm will be able to fold over her shoulder, cause right now you might only get her fingers up.
Two. She looks pretty good around the pelvis, but I don’t have an orthographic wireframe from the side so I can’t really tell. One thing I did notice was that her thighs are too narrow. Try extending the inside (the aductors and the inside of the quadriceps) In a few inches, and round it out in there.
Three. Not much to say on the face–which is pretty good as a whole–but if it’s a woman you should make it a little slimmer. Or, since her head almost looks too short, just make her chin a little longer. Not much(once again) juuust a little. See, these adjustments are all just tweaks, cause your model doesn’t actually look that bad so far.
One last thing is this:
Breasts are a bugger. I give you my fullest sympathies in your exploits right now, but whatever you do, please, for your own sake, do not select two groups of quads on her chest, extrude them, and then try to make them round, that’s really the worst way anyone could ever do it, but so many people do.
Thanks for the reply, i updated it something lika you said and it looks better now, And i made the breasts too, they came out not perfect but they are ok, i also widened the torso a little, any more criticism is appriciated. some new pics.
Hmmm. It does look better, the thighs still need to be a little beefier, but you’re on the right track.
I wouldn’t have widened the torso that much, though. As a guideline, female shoulders shouldn’t be much wider than their hips. The proportions were better before.
I take it you’re using Joan D’arc tutorial on the body?
Very good work so far, I really don’t have anything to crit at this point. The mesh looks clean, so keep up the good work.
Looks a lot better. Now, I know this is kind-of last minute, but could you taper her hands and fingers a bit? Look at your hand and see how it’s composite width gets smaller towards the end. It really looks a lot better than it did, though, good job.
