Assign a material to a vertex group

Hi everybody,

I am using Dynamic Paint to create a vertex group over time. Now I’d like to assign it a custom material, but the assignment should be made over time, following the vertex group.

Is there a way to do it?

you cant animate material changes on a face basis… you can however use the dynamic paint to drive vertex colour which in turn can be used to drive changes INSIDE a material…

As in… dynamic paint effects the vertex colour of hte object… the vertex colour then can drive a colour mix within the material.
