Assigning materials

Hello people !

Can someone help me how can I assign two diff materials to selected faces without need to create a crease or edgeloops, ofc I can assign them perfecly with adding the crease but in this case I do not want any crease or pinch. please check the attached image to understand my question.
Thank you.

You either need to have two faces where you can assign two materials or you need a bitmap mask which can mix different materials.

Welcome :tada:

You can assign any material to any face and the “outer” edges of this selection have no influence on the material.

Also in your image i wonder why you want a different material on this “piece of car” ? If this is a bumper you may even separate the faces ?

You may have to elaborate this to get a more suited answer.

Subdivision modifiers make it difficult to accurately identify materials.
Subdivision modifiers cause contraction and contraction is related to edge formation (not good topology)

Edge support lines must be created to prevent contraction in the corresponding separation lines.

Alternatively, use UV and Image to set up 2 materials
