"Attack of the Ham-Hams"

The following is an art project I’ve recently taken up.

There is a short story behind this, which I feel obligated to tell before I ask about what could be improved. Once, maybe two or three years ago, I drew a fairly brief comic book. This comic was called “attack of the ham-hams”. (Original can be seen here: http://www.knoxfarms.com/albums/album08/attack_of_the_ham_hams_old.sized.jpg)
The premise of this comic was a series of fight sequences involving an anthropomorphic, sword-wielding fox character, and a large quantity of “ham hams” from the Japanese TV show, “Hamtoro”. The comic was intended to be ridiculously over-the-top (at which it succeeded). This project is a remake of this comic. After several drafts I’ve arrived on something I feel I can post here.

The most obvious problem that shows up for me is the sloppy-looking logo. Post production should take care of this, though… Any tips for logo making?

An eventual color version is a must, I realize.

And a more specific question: does anyone know how to make a fox-like head appear female? The character is supposed to be female but I haven’t the slightest idea how to make it look like such.

Um… that’s pretty much all I can notice on my own, save for the sloppy-looking buildings in the background.

Suggestions? Tips?

i really like the background! what did u use to illustrate it? the main person is sorta dumb. there isn’t enough detail in the sword, and the arms kinda look a bit akward and not really realistic. The face is really distorted and its features look like something out of little read riding hood  other than that you did a good job on perspective which isn’t an easy task. you should color it in photoshop.

yeah i was looking at wat you wrote in more detail with my friend alfred (thats why the IP’s are the same, admin!) i noticed you had a problem with logomaking. I have a section on a tutorial website i made on how to build a logo here:

its a small part in it but just search for logo in the webpage and you’ll find it. hope that helps!

Thank you. I used pen and ink.

The sword is pretty nondescript, I must concur. I got some second and third opinions about the arms and face, though, and the only thing that could be unanimously decided on was that the lower arm looked vaguely “wrong”, maybe like it was sticking “out” when it shound have been more “inward”. Everyone else I’ve consulted seems to approve of the upper arm and head, though…

Thank you.

I lack expertise with computer graphic coloring >.<. I had intended to try colored pencils. Do you think that would work well, or should I do something else?

Uh-oh! The url didn’t work. I got some german page saying “error: file not found”. :expressionless:

i think it would be cool if you colored it in colored pencil, however you should color a copy of the original incase you mess up, or don’t like it
