attracting particles to a point

I’m trying to create a smoke effect for a live action effect. A person is replaced by smoke in their shape, then the smoke is all sucked into a point.
I’ve tried different field settings, but the best I seem to be able to do is get the particles to go into orbit around the field. If I set the force too high, the go right beyond the point and off the screen.

Is there any way to create a particle black hole?
Any other suggestions?
