AUDI A1 Concept

Greetings to all!
This is my first post here.
I wanted to show one of my concept designs fully developed inside Blender.

I hope you’ll like it.

Welcome to BlenderArtists!!

Love your design, its a squashed for my liking, but still futuristic and sexy.

Could you render the pics a little larger, give us a chance to take the detail in. Say 800*600 each.

Welcome to BlenderArtists! I think it looks really cool! I think you can tell that it is an A1 Audi to be honest. I like Audis a lot and this concept is really cool. But i agree with TheANIMAL that you should render it in a larger resolution. I looks really stylish and the headlights are very cool.

Waw i love it !
I love tiny cars and this one is no exception.
Well done !
Bi-gger ! bi-gger !

I like it alot rendetto:) Not sure why you say "I think you can tell that it is an A1 Audi " Juggler, I did a Google search and the A1 looks nothing like this one. I think it is a very clean and stylish design.

Audi bought the rights already?

Great one!

heh it looks like a hybrid
its got those really annoying bright lights too :stuck_out_tongue:
4 stars

I feel i have to comment once more !
Rhaaaaaaaaaaaa i luv it !
Man if that car existed…

Thanks a lot for all your comments.
I’ve replaced the image with a bigger one, so that you can see the details.
I am really pleased to say that Blender tools can make NURBS-like smooth and clean surfaces with an ordinary mesh.

Greetings,
rendetto

I dunno stevenhorton. The A1 audi is kinda “squashed” and i just thought it looked like a future generation of A1. Thanks fo the new pic rendetto. Did you draw a concept for it or how did you do?

Thanks for posting a bigger image, it looks very good!
I’d drive one.

Especially for this car I didn’t made detailed sketches, I knewed what profiles i want and started it like 3d sketch with smoothed only-edge-meshes which are like NURBS curves. Blender curves are kind a messy and I prefered more simple solution.
Here’s a screenshot from the viewport:

Then I made the surfaces with Subsurf and used all contour curves for cutting. This is very close to NURBS modelling technique in Rhinoceros or Studiotools and I got very similar results but with less polygons.
The great thing which helped me was the Blender’s reflection mapping feature that alowed me to check the reflectance smoothness for every detail.

This is how it was done, in short off course.

Rendered with Blender internal, but I’m planning to use Pixie as a flexible and faster rendering solution.

Cheers,
rendetto

Nice…Looks professional. How did you do the lighting/reflections setup?
4.5 rounded up.

the doors show some jagged edges…

Wow! great work I really like it.

I was wondering if you could go into a little more detail in your method you describe here, it sounds different from anything I have heard of before.
Thanks
Dan

I agree.I’m very curious about your description…

I bump this in hopes that you see it, rendetto. I’d really like an explanation! (I sent you a PM as well.)

That should be a real car! Thats the best car I’ve seen, way da’ go!

Very Nice car looking like future car.

The windshield wipers look wrong, but other than that great job.
