Audi R8(another one)

So this is my attempt at modeling an audi r8, I had been very surprised how sculpt tools can be used to manage the mesh so easy(some actions like smooth a whole area and move some points to make the mesh fit). It still needs a lot of work(making parts, adjusting edges), but here is the overall of the model:

and here are some AO renders. C&C are appreciated.

looks good man. your topolagy isnt bad. might need a little work in some areas but sometimes these things clean them selves up once they are given depth so im not gonna bake a big deal out of that. over all looks good bro.

Thanks @ThorntonStrolia I’m still thinking which parts should get a solify modifier,
Here is a little update, I’ve working some time on the front. I’m considering to create other tire, what do you think? Is this one look too flat?

no one commented? wow I must be doing a great work ;),
A little update, I changed the tire and restarted the front light, I have to work on the hood.

Looks great. Looking forward to the final product.

The hood looks a little funny and the gap on the front needs to be closer together and needs thickness otherwise it looks great

@AaronAnnuscheit: I know! the hood kinda looked weird, it was my fault, I made two pieces of the hood instead of one by error, when I looked at images of the car I was like : damn!.., anyway I managed the two parts to look like the are integrated.

Here is some progress:

I have to work on the roof and the back window, and surely close some gaps.

I’m not sure if I can call this car done, but here are some render directly from blender, using cycles(200 samples), and using the node editor for compositing:

it kinda looks like a hot wheel’s car xD, I didn’t make interiors for this so thats why the windows are too dark.

spending a bit more time on lighting and materials would help a whole lot.

Agree I reckon it isn’t glossy enough therefore not producing the reflections that would take this image from cool to awesome

Thank you @ctdabomb and @Aaron Annusheit, you two make me think to restart the composition of the scene/ I used as resource this tutorial from cgcookie.com by Jonathan Williamson link ,it helped me a lot.

Here it is a render using cycles with 250 samples:

you chose the right colours  (white and black) Looks good so far…a little brighter perhaps!

The topology is slight off. There’s some errors like rear bumper seam. And if I really look at it it seems as the whole car seem a bit unstable. Like it’s wobbly…model without finesse.
Anyway, color is good and the material looks good!

@peter18:the colors were pretty much an accident, atleast the car paint, I wanted to apply a color scheme but in the render preview it looked nice in white so I keep it.
@IconnW, I had a hard time with the bumper.

Yeah the only color an Audi R8 should be is white and black in my opinion lol…its a beautiful car!

That is better
Now can we have a front render

@peter18: I know right!, it is an awesome car, Tony Stark drove it so it must be one of the best cars ever (if it is not the best) .
Here there are some renders from the front(without vintage filter for vary).

I want to write something from the background of this model, I wasn’t sure to make this model at all, actually I wasn’t sure what to model, one of my goals is to work as a modeler or something related with the 3d world, since last year I would say that I kinda took it serious. so I try to keep me busy, trying to improve my skills, I wouldn’t say that I’m a very focused person, I ramble a lot xD but I try to remember that I must do something to achieve my goals, so that is why I started this model, I’m not sure if I can call this car done yet but I’m starting thinking what is next.

the area around the top of the grill could be a little smoother…I see a couple of jagged bits…other than that, good job

That is sweet

It is looking better with each render! The main thing that I am noticing is that the panels don’t fit together cleanly in some places, most noticeably around the headlights. If you clean up those areas it will look great.
