Hi there… I have been working on and off on this car for some time now, and i think it’s about time for some C & C… This is my second attempt at a car, and I am quite pleased with the results so far… But I would really apreciate if I could get some comments on the flow of the polys…
And a test render in indigo… The tires are not made by me…
my 2nd car was a '86 Honda - you are doing alright for yourself
the flow looks good, nice model
what are the black panels - looks like a seperate object with the normal facing the wrong way - is that what the car looks like in real life (I haven’t seen one)
The car is a beaty isn’t she… I will do my best to do it justice, but it is going to be hard cause the audi designers really did a magnificant job with this one…
I have done some more modelling of the car and I have a few indigo renders cooking at the moment, so I will update with pictures tomorrow…
I am currently working on a model of a BMW M-Coupe, and to get the effect of headlights, I created a separate mesh that fit “behind” the headlights, and would reflect some of the light forward, like in real cars. It is white, with a .5 raymir to reflect the light. Not visible in the picture (hidden under the spotlight) is a regular lamp with with a spherical area just slightly bigger than the back of the headlight (I am using the spotlight to project a slight halo, and spots on the ground). I also used 1 vertex of a square to form a “camera glare” effect (only visible in the render).
I will try to put a reflective plane behind the lamp to see what happens and will possibly render a night version tonight to test it out… Thanks for the tips
A long time without updates… I don’t have time to work so much on this anymore because of exams and some other stuff, so I figured I would give it to you guys… It is not near finished, but take it if you like It can be dl’ed here:
