Augmented reality (AR) and the real time engine

This is a long shot but here goes… has anyone tried using an AR system like the ARToolKit to control the motion of objects from a blend or exe? It should be possible as I’ve seen other game engines used with AR - just not blender. Most simple AR systems call a VRML 2.0 file and use a web cam to control the objects motion. If anyone knows of anything at all in this area then I’d like to know.
