Situation: I’m animating a lightsaber by moving the model of the blade (a straight subdivided line) to match the pole used a fan film.
Problem: I need to know if its possible to have blender automatically keyframe the blade for me on each frame as I move it without me having to go thru the whole I-key menu.
I know there is a button somewhere, I’ve seen it. I just can’t remember where!
Thanks in advance,
-jason
any other way to animate this faster would be appropriate as well
Hi Jason H !
Auto Keyframing is available through the Red recorder button of the timeline window.
You can also enable it with 3 options in the user preference window.
Philippe.
The button in the timeline window is often more convenient firstly because you can turn it on or off at will (handy when you want to move a camera, light or other object without animating the move) and also because the Prefs doesn’t save the setting anyway, so you’ll have to turn it on everytime you re-open Blender (unless this has changed in very latest releases).
