I was just wondering if there was a setting in 2.79 for proportional editing where the selection automatically becomes deselected once you let go of the mouse button, just like the grab brush in sculpt mode?
I would like to nudge some of my points in sculpt mode, to be honest, but I can’t get a wireframe mode just to show the base level of subdivision like you would normally see in edit mode. If you change the object display to wire then you see ALL the polygon wires in sculpt mode and not just the base polygons.
You could apply a wireframe modifier if you want to sculpt while being able to see its edges, i dont think that would interfere with sculpting, another option could be to UV unwrap your object, export UV layout, but use the UV layout image as the input to the image texture foryour objects material. This definitely wouldn’t I interfere with sculpting but it wouldn’t automatically update.
On your proportional question you’d probably need a python script
Thanks. I found a compromise and decided to set my mesh to wireframe and leave my retopo reference mesh to solid and just stick with proportional editing. I’ll just have to make do with that somehow. It’ll probably just be a matter of getting used to it.
I should have mentioned in my original post that this was for retopo purposes. Sorry about that.
