Files are only if erased you’ve intentionally activated the auto-cleanup for temp files in Windows, and even then it’s not on each restart or power cycle. If you aren’t using automatic cleanup, those files will live there a very, very long time (and possibly using several gigs of HD space, that you’d prefer to have back.)

Interesting. Thanks for info. It erases temp files on Ubuntu afaik. I didn’t know Windows turns off auto-cleanup by default.

Ah. I don’t use Linux, so not aware of how it deals with temp files; ditto for Macintosh, no clue what they do with such files. In that case, you might consider adding a distinction on that point.

BUT, certainly changing the autosave/temp directory for any OS could have a benefit for a blender user, so I’m not implying you’re giving bad advice. :slight_smile:
