Is there a way to use Blender without having to use nodes and noodles?

It seems that even simple tasks are hard to do, and the explanations of nodes in the user manual do not really say much about how any chain of connected nodes can create an effect.

Any help is appreciated.

Without Geonodes: Yes. Without Shader-Nodes not really.

You control the buttons you press, simply don’t use nodes and you can use Blender without using nodes.

Sure. Just don’t use them then. You can do modelling and you can create materials in the properties editor:

You can do rigging, some animation, lot’s of other stuff as well.

It’s just that you will not be able to do all the things that need nodes. It’s kind of the same as using a car without being able to drive - you can still get in, it’s warmer inside, you can probably listen to the radio, it has a light if it’s dark, you just cannot go anywhere.

You can easily avoid geometry nodes, plenty of projects never need them. Personally I am a huge fan of geo nodes, so actively find ways to use them in my projects, and to speed up my workflow.

Shader nodes are harder to avoid, as lots of complex materials need them. But basic shading can still be done in the materials panel.

Well.. you do not learn how to drive by reading the car manual.. as said:

For the material you might use the _Material Properties_ on the right side to use a very simple material setup. But using texture maps already makes you use the shader editor.. and so some nodes.

The obstacle is the path. You have found the thing you need to overcome in order to grow. It’s worth learning how to use these tools. They are complex, but they allow much more complexity to come out of them.

If you are fine producing simple scenes, objects, and renders then you can get away without using them. but if you want to do anything of moderate complexity, you will need to take the time to learn how to use them.
