Bit bright on the yellow… but it looks alright, well done
The mesh is excellent
Texture and green on the handle and barrel look quite nice. But the green on the blade is a bit annoying.
Maybe the blade texture should be just some scratched up metal?
It is a bit bright:cool:… Your enemies will clearly see you coming at them! Especially at night!! I’d like to see the whole thing textured, and see how the bright colors fit in. For example, if it’s textured in camo, the bright colors would be too much and defeat the purpose of the camo. But if you have a different idea, it might work. Like for example, something from the movie Tron…

Apperantly I keep uploading with the same name so image keeps updating here as well… Anyways… I’m trying to make this work a bit more, it’s going slowly but I’m doing somewhat more or less of a progress.
This concept shows the creation of “gun-axe”. First I drew regular axe, then modified it into gun-axe. In order to shoot, user must press and hold the lever on the axe handle and then just press the trigger wich is located left from the ammo clip with his thumb. Easy to use! Runic inscription means “victory”.

nice! I had a similar idea for long, but modern shotgun/combined with machette for chop’n zombies
is it supposed to look steam-punk? It kinda does.
It reminds me of the brute weapon from the halo games. looks cool though.
Update!
EmmaMadeleine thanks for the idea. I really apreceate it.
I kind of tried doing the “same” way… though not completely sure how to have the trigger there.
First of all, great looking model so far. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the textures, there are several different directions you could take this. I was wondering what the wires you have connecting that cylinder on the side of the gun to the blade are for, and it occurred to me that it would be cool if those transferred the heat generated from firing the weapon to the blade. That way, the more you fired the gun, the hotter the blade would get. That would be a pretty cool feature in a game.
I was looking at it and it seems that the axe part of this would be hard to use.Think about trying to swing this as an axe. The hand grips you have are situated well for thrusting the weapon forward, but you wouldn’t be able to swing the blade down with any force. You would need to be able to switch your hands quickly into a grip that would let you swing it hard and fast.
I think EmmaMadeleine’s concept is a great example of this, she obviously had this very thing in mind when she designed it. The shape and length of the stock would allow you to grip it with both hands like a baseball bat, and you could quickly and easily switch from a shooting position to a swinging position. If it were in a movie or a game switching hands could be made into a really cool animation. This grip would allow you to put the maximum amount of force behind your swings.
Really all you would need to do is lengthen the trigger-hand grip to be long enough to grab onto with your other hand. That way, you would only have to move your other hand to be behind your trigger-hand to change grips. I hope I’m explaining myself well.
As for the trigger problem, it helps to imagine using the gun. It needs to be close enough to reach easily with your index finger, but far enough away that it doesn’t interfere with your other fingers. You also need to be able to remove your finger quickly and easily to avoid firing accidentally. This would be especially important in this case, when you would be swinging the axe around.
This may not be the direction you want to go, but in this case an unconventional trigger may be best. I’m thinking of the type of trigger on the phasers in Star Trek Next Generation. They have just a button on the back of the grip above your hand. That way, when you want to swing the ax, you would just have to move your thumb over, which you would naturally do anyways when getting ready to swing. Again I hope I’m explaining myself well.
Ugh, long post. Sorry about that. I hope some of these suggestions are helpful!
Very helpfull indeed! Thank for such a great response.
I’ll try to put the ideas you gave me in to the gun and see it if it works out.
