Hi everyone,
I still learning in blender, and doing some modeling for fun.
But now something has gone wrong. This is exactly what I do:
Via Add>Mesh>Cube I put a cube down. This is from a top view, so the cube is not rotated. When I go to edit mode, the axis point to weird directions.
More strange is, that each point (verticle?) has the axes pointing to a different direction.
Normally, I add a cube, and in editmode the axes of the object point along with the axes of the world around, the z point up and the x and y to the sides. This stays even if I rotate the object, so the axes aren’t rotating.
But in my wierd case, the axes also change of direction. Even when moving a sinlge verticle, the axes of that verticle change in direction. This way, I can’t move point on the y axis for example, as the axes of the verticle point wrong and let it move in the direction it points to, changing x, y and z coordinates.
It’s weird, but I hope some setting keeps the axes pointing in the right direction. This behavior is specific to my blend file, on a new file everything goes fine. I also tried 2 versions (2.37 and 2.40) and both do it right in a new file, but are behaving weird in my specific blend file. So it must be the file, some setting in it probably.
I just looked further, and when I had a subdivided plane, everywhere form the verticles were blue lines sticking out, pointing away from the surface. The axis of the individual verticle were pointing also away from the surface, inline with the blue lines. So each verticle has it’s axes direction depending on the surface. Those blue lines are because I activated Draw VNormals, so those lines can be deactivated, but Now I want my axes point to the real xyz and not the ones coming from the normals.
How can I get this behavior back to normal? any help is welcome
I’ll post pictures of this behavior soon.
EDIT:Whoops, just found the cause, didn’t see the difference in the setting, as I didn’t look at the most obvious place, I had the transform orientation setted wrong, now everything is allright. feel kinda dumb/noob.
The snappin to ption / magnet tool bellow the main window should not be turn ON Brooooooo. Eureka!
