B-Bone Armature deform Lip


I am trying to animate a robotic head which as detached Lips.
I want the Lips to move smoothly while having 3 modifiers on each lip (left,center,right).


I attached a picture what i mean, i somehow want to connect the lip (orange) to the bezier b-bone
and let the lip behave like the bbone instead of this hard bend as seen in the picture.

Or am i completely wrong and i can do the same with 3 bones connected to the lip?

I am kind of new to blender so any help is appreciated :slight_smile:


From the looks of it, it would appear that all you really need are some additional edge loops on your lip cylinder. B-bones are great, but they can’t deform vertices that aren’t there.
