i really like this did any one know the progress on this tools and were i cant find them
Looks like it was scrapped - the video post was made around mid 2012!?
I’d just use Makehuman…
makehuman is kind of lacking in terms of realism (though they’re making headway recently). Integration is very nice as well. It would be really cool if someone took the initiative to do something like Species or even Human ZBuilder within Blender.
I can confirm Species is a great tool, having a sort of Poser inside blender and have the model just rigged is very good and time saver. Species in particular has great quality meshes and a ton of options (like premade poses for hands, possibility to modify the base meshes before the (precise and fast) autorigging process, add pros etc. etc.)
I’d really like to know how to create custom sliders for shape keys like this. I think this is a great idea… too bad development seems to have stopped.
Hey there,
surprised to see bHuman here…
I am the creator of bHuman. I am sorry, there is nothing released. I just have to many stuff going on… I should concentrate on a few projects and not start for every Idea I have a new project. Unfortunately I often end up with just a prototype and people would like to have that functionality
The thing is, I have revamped some of the underlying mechanics to be much more flexible. Therefore some other functionality is lost. Such as hair and color sliders. At the moment it only has shape sliders. But the good thing is, that those sliders are not hard coded anymore.
People can create there own sliders and boxes via the bHuman editor tools in the ui.
I need to take a look at the project. Maybe I can release some of the stuff… I hope it still works in current blender version.
I realise that it is something different to create a working prototype or a fully functional final product.
Unfortunately I am more an artist than a coder
IMHO, colour and hair style are not so important.
What make Species for softimage a great tool is the very good rigging (based on another very useful autorigging tool called GEAR) is the ability to cage the shape of the body not only via slider/shape way, but pushing vertex and deforming the body structure with useful handles. Here videos with all the species tools:
ndee – thanks for responding. I can probably speak for a lot of the folks here by saying that we would be quite satisfied with the unfinished prototype, whether it’s free or for a small fee.
+1…I only had time to watch a couple of seconds of the video and…WOW…I want to play with it!!!

hehe… yeah… Give me some time! Now that I see that there is quite some interest I will focus on bHuman! I don’t want to deliver something unfinished that I am not happy with. At least not to a certain grade!
The underlying system works pretty good already! I need to redo some shapes!
Ndee u did amazing work, It will be very nice and appreciated by Blender Game developers if You continue your project, It looks amazing and as You know You have to update it with a lot of functions alla details must be apart, but I think You will fix them all in future
Thank you for your work…I will be looking forward to anything that you chose to share.

hi there,
i’d like to post here, just to show more of our interest. Your works help us Blender Game engine lovers so much! Easy emit, bhuman really nice work!
I cant wait to hear more about your updates! Every little step you do is giving us high hopes
Great job so far and have a nice time!
Exactly what is ‘Species’ and where can you find it?
That makes sense for professional or advanced hobbyist work. Unfortunately, I’m not there. I would be happy to have less functional but free tools.
ndee, I’d like to add my enthusiasm for you releasing bHuman when you can. Thank you.
