I’m in a band, we have 3 guitars, a drummer, and me playin bass
I also play guitar and piano but I’m not good enough to do shows with those instruments =/
I also do a little FL
I can only play one tune on the guitar . . . or least could do.
I use to play bass in a band, i have a few guits, a bass, a drumkit… i can play a tiny tiny bit of piano, but i’m best with bass
I do DJ
i have One remix and i want you to tell me about it
…is that you?
Nothing wrong with the music, just to slow(for me) =P
so you’re DJ Overdoz?
is that you?
EDIT:
I’ve been playing around with an app called “Musagi”. It’s basically an FL Studio clone, but free and it seems to lean towards doing chiptune style stuff, though you can use VSTi instruments… I’m working on a megaman clone with 2D, NES style graphics, so I was trying to make some megaman style music. I think I still have a ways to go
I hate to show off, but you asked, so I’m tellin’ lol
My father is a proffessor at the University. He teaches 2 Jazz Lab bands and has several prerequisites like Impromtu etc. I’ve learned all I know from him… and several other people. I can now play just about any instrument that is not a wind instrument of any sort (I tried Saxaphone and couldn’t even get a sound out of it for months).
I don’t really play in a band, but I prefer Jazz, Garage Rock (that’s not metal in any way for those of you who don’t know), Noise Rock, Drum n’ Bass, Folk, Blues and especially Classical music right now.
My brother is actually much better than me. He’s almost 13 years old and he can shred more than just about any kid I’ve ever seen. My other brother is majoring in Bass performance right now. He can shred on bass like no one I’ve ever seen (besides his teacher who is the best bass player I’ve ever met, and even better than Victor Wooten.
peace,
-nick

I like your song. The example songs are pretty good on the Musagi’s link page too. Is that program fairly straight forward? I am not a musician but wanted to learn at least some basic stuff to make for my animations.
When I was younger I was quite proficient in the violin, but in the past few years I’ve gotten away from it. However, in the last week or so I’ve started trying to build up my skills again, and I’m finding it coming back to me fairly fast. Still a lot of practicing to do, though.
Also, last week I did something I’ve wanted to do for a while: I built a theremin. It’s very difficult to play, but I’m learning to pick out tunes on it, and hopefully I’ll eventually be able to play it without making mistakes every three notes or so.
That is cool. The theremin reminds me of a video I saw of Kraftwerk where they made their own instruments. Was it hard/expensive to make?
It’s actually really easy. I don’t have much patience for making music with a keyboard / mouse, but that app makes it pretty enjoyable. It’s still got some glitches and some things behave a little weird, but they aren’t huge issues. It’s never crashed on me so far, and that’s saying more than just about any other music app I’ve tried.
The modules he supplies are mainly chip-tune oriented, but you can load vsti’s, and that opens up a huge world of sound. You can record knobs with your mouse, you can play with instrument settings as it plays / loops to get that perfect sound… Pretty nice little app, overall.
It occasionally will flip out and stop making sound, but if you save / close / reopen the file it will work again. That’s probably the worst glitch I’ve encountered, and it’s only happened a couple of times in the few weeks I’ve been playing with it.
I produce, mainly with Logic Pro 8 but I also use Reason, Pure Data, Ableton Live, hardware drum machines and synthesisers etc. I also do live sets and DJ.
EDIT: not forgetting the Nintendo DS with the DS-10 and Nitro tracker!!!
@Squiggly_P - that track of yours was wicked. That app looks cool too, will have to check it out… if it runs on a mac that is. Do you like chip music? I love it! Real chip music and the new stuff. Check out these sites if you don’t know them already…

@yournamehere - you mentioned noise-rock, do you like This Heat?
Hey, is that how the antlers on the bottom of Trey Anastasio’s guitar work?
Was watching a ‘making of’ video about Oysterhead and that thing is just strange.
Army’s on ecstasy, or so they say
Read all about it in the USA Today
Stepped up urine testing to make it go away
'Cause it’s hard to kill the enemy on MDMA
Can’t go wrong with Trey Anastasio, Les Claypool and Stuart Copeland…
I play the guitar, piano, drums and sometime play around with mixcraft or any other music maker.

I play the guitar (28 yrs) but not professionally.I fronted (guitar and vocals) a few bands when I was younger. I played arround with some Digital Audio Workstations and made a CD several years ago. I still play but I’m not hooked any more.
I just bought the Moog Etherwave kit (you can find it on Amazon.com). It wasn’t difficult to make, and not prohibitively expensive (but not really cheap, either). To build the kit requires a little bit of soldering, but most of it is just inserting screws and bolts into the correct holes. It took me about four days, most of that time being used to stain the cabinet. The staining took three days (takes a long time to dry) and I finished the rest of the kit over the course of maybe five hours.
Uncle Entity: Maybe? I’m not familiar with the musician, but I do know that theremins have been incorporated into guitars before, so it’s quite possible.
I play guitar - lead and rhythm, bass, piano and percussion (but suck on a kit)
I was in a christian worship band but having a break from that ATM… still keeping my hand in songwriting though
I’ve worked with music a little over the years - you can see my website for recordings and sound files.
