Back Buffer Solution

Running Windows XP and Blender 2.41, Blender kept crashing when I used the back buffer. A search of this forum and wiki didn’t get me an answer so in case anyone else is havng this problem here’s my solution:

  1. The path to the back buffer image cannot be relative, it has to contain the drive letter and full path (and there’s a limit to how many characters can be in the path - sorry, I didn’t count).

  2. The output format has to be the same as the back buffer image. I was tryng to use a jpg as the background and output to tga. Evidently Blender doesn’t like that.

Now I’m off to buy batteries for my #$%^#$%^ wirele keyboard which is randoml skipping letters as I type.

<edit> When I turn on View Background image while modeling, I have to turn it off, save the blend file, shutdown Blender and restart before rendering or it will crash <sigh>.
