this is a bg i´m making for a music video for some friends of mine they will look like they are standing on a roof and playing in front of these ruins ,we already shot the live action stuff in front of a green screen so now i´m just waiting for it to be edited so i can match the angles and put in the final details.

the clouds and smoke are made by making a matte painting of different clouds in photoshop and then texturing them on many layers of planes and then i use gradient alpha maps to control how translusent they are.

Will you also be showing the roof that the band is standing on in the video? I’m curious how their feet will look standing on the CG roof.
Also, how did you do the lighting for the green screen shots? It’s almost a gray scale matte painting. Do you plan to desaturate the green screen shots for compositing?
we plan to avoid showing the feet as much as possible, since its always very hard to make those shots look good and yes we are going to color correct the green screen shots to match the ambient light of the background.
