Background video.

Hi.
Is it possible to have a background video in the 3D view?
It is very usefull for animation.

go to the texture buttons, add an image texture. load a video(I know they support .mov, not sure about other codecs) , and click the ‘movie’ button. then go to the furthermost tab to the right in the texture buttons(anima and movie). Click on the little orange arrow, and that will get your frames. make the texture your background image. Then, press the right arrow, it will playback your movie(tho itll skip a few frames)

Also, with the image refactor in the new release, you won’t have to do that anymore. On the 3d view go to “View”->“Background Image” and then in the panel click on the load button.

cheers,

Bob

Sorry to bump, but not sure if I should make a new thread or what…

I get the error “can not get an image”.

What does that mean?

I assume that means Blender doesn’t have support for the codec of the video?
