Hi there, does somebody knows if it’s there an actual external render (lux, yafaray, vray, octane or whatever…) that can manage background files? not only plane images but also video files to composite with the render result, cause all I can find is HDRI map that is not exactly what I’m looking for, HDRI map is OK for lighting but not for the final render, so I was looking forward to something similar to the actual blender render internal, where you can place an image as background or a movie. Thanks.
I don’t necessarily have an answer, but have been and seen what you are after. I ultimately just dropped my HDRI because I didn’t feel it worth the effort, but what I would have done (or was intending to try)…
Kick your render out to Lux meanwhile use the composite nodes in Blender to generate the masks. You could either import the Lux image as an input (node) in place of the render layers, or go to Gimp and use layer masks. Not sure if I’m making sense or not… I do realize this is simplistic with glow and such (stuff that doesn’t premul well), so doing composite work in Gimp may be the better option.
Beyond that I didn’t research to see if Lux per-say has an option to remove it, when I went through it quickly I saw no obvious setting.
I’m sure I didn’t help, but here’s hoping I maybe stimulated an idea for you.
