An “Iron breathing” bacteria that gives off iron ions as a byproduct of respiration using carbohydrates.
This kinda reminds me of “Mr. Fusion” from Back to the Future where they toss a can of pop into the car and it powers up.

About the title of this post, isn’t that quite old news?

Possible answer:
There are no stupid questions, only stupid people
I’m never sure who to contact for permission to put old news on off topic thread.

I thought this was new… All the articles I’ve read were published within the past 3 days.
But three days??! That story is SOOOOO three days ago! I think it’ll be news for quite some time…Just because it wasn’t announced 30 seconds ago that doesn’t disqualify it from being current.
It was news to me. And I do my best to stay informed for the most part. Guess I am too caught up in politics. %| Anyway, I found it interesting.
What happens if this bacteria enters some’s body and converts carbs into electricity inside of them. :o
I didn’t mean it was forbidden to post old news, I just pointed out it to RipSting, as I found that he seemed to think this was a New Thing
I do remember to have read some article years ago about making organic computers (or something like that), and in it was mentioned electricity producing bacteria.
There WERE electric-producing bacteria discovered a few years back. However, if you read the article, it said that these were less than 2% efficient (compared to the new ones which are about 83%), and they required some sort of catalyst for them to work. These new bacteria were just discovered.
:o OOOOOOOUCHHHHHH!!! :o
Oh, okay. I stand corrected then
