Bad Contiguous Edges

Hi everyone. So in my object, I selected all edges that I wanted to keep sharp before using a sub surf modifier and used the bevel tool with 3 segments all the way around. I then used the sub surf modifier and then used the 3d Print Toolbox and it found several Bad Contiguous Edges. I’ve tried recalculating the normals outside but it didn’t completely solve the problem. Can anyone explain to me maybe what’s going on here and how to resolve this?

It appears that you had some bad normals when you beveled, so now you have some messed up bevel geometry.

I would delete that segment, fill in the hole, re-extrude it and try again. Cleaning up that mess will take much longer than trying again.

Fortunately I saved the file up to the point of having selected the edges and ready to sub surf. I guess going forward with each object I need to check the face orientation just prior to sub surf. I’ll try it out when I get back home and update. Thank you for responding
