Bake Lambert lighting to texture?

Hi fellow blender artists,

I’m pretty new to Blender and just learning a bit about its rendering pipeline. I do have some experience from 3ds max and there’s an option to bake lighting/materialcolor/specularity etc. into a texture.

Now in Blender my object uses Lambert lighting with the ramp checkbox checked. I used the ramp lighting to kind of tint the object.
Now I wondered if it’s possible to bake that information into a texture to use in a game engine.
I noticed there’sa bake option in the Render tab but I don’t think I understand it, yet

Could someone give me a hint on that?

thx in advance and happy new year!
