Baking dynamic paint on linked object?

Hi there,

I have an asset in my library with a dynamic paint material as described in this question.

When I import this asset in my scene as a linked object, I cannot bake the dynamic effects on my asset, because this I could only do in my library where the dynamic paint settings are. This means that the effects do not appear in my renders.

Is there any way to make it work or a dynamic paint settings simply not suited for linked objects?
