Baking Ucupaint results in brighter-looking colours

Hello! Having an issue with Ucupaint where baking my material results in a texture with the wrong colours. I’m working on a new device and have been using Ucupaint without issue on my other device, though it has been a while since I set that one up. My Blender config should be more or less identical between the two.

It’s as if the texture is treated as being in Linear colour space when baking even though they are sRGB, since setting my images to Linear space makes them appear like the baked output.

Happy to give more information as needed.

Welcome :tada:..

since Ucupaint has an ongoing topic here on BA ( last from the author @ucupumar 3 days ago and now pinging :grinning_cat_with_smiling_eyes: ) :

..it might be more efficient to ask “directly there”

..or use the awesome forum search function (top right; :mag:–icon) to find even some discussion outside this (?)

Oh yes, I looked for similar topics but none seemed to help with my issue.

I’ll post there, then. I had guessed it was a release post only and not an ongoing thread. Thanks!

For anyone finding this thread with the same issue, for me it was caused by Blender 5.2.2. As a workaround, downgrading back to Blender 5.2.0 results in Ucupaint behaving as expected. (5.2.1 untested)

Nice to share a solution.. often new users just do not mind.. so they do not understand “community”.. (so you are the second i i tell this  )

Also: i should have askded: “Which version ??”

New versions often break addons (or their functionality) .. like also in browers.. so next time anyone : tell ehihc version you use (maybe also the OS ad version) :grinning_cat_with_smiling_eyes: )
