Balls and Boobs

Could someone please make more female friendly art to attract females to blender?

Uhhh, what do you mean by that?

Flowers and butterflies.

What about BBB. Flowers + Butterfly, Done. Though the butterfly does get gruesomely killed.

keep drawing man. you have the skills.

Yes, BBB is a good example. We need more stuff like that hangin around.

Weird thing is, noone has noticed that that shoes she’s wearing and the dress have no boundary. She’s just wearing one big rubber suit. Why is it that whenever people look at a female character, the first thing they scrutinize are the breasts?

Don’t make assuptions out of few examples.
The first thing i noticed was the colors, then the overal shape of obects, then the very well made suit material, then the Dead face…

LMAO! I was certain that “Sintel” would have done that. I have this theory that women secretly enjoy watching women doing horrible things. The female catharsis seems more on the level of “Stupid cow, I would never have done that! It’s your fault for letting that horrid firebreather take your pet in the first place! YOU DESERVE IT!” Imagine my surprise in finding that most of the “female” posters on YouTube who left comments like that were really just overly catty men posing as women. So that they could attract more female users to Blender…

And the first thing I noticed was the title (words get into me before images do.) I was thinking that this would be the first interesting Blender art about hermaphroditism (something that can be explored with a single pull of a slider in Makehuman…)
But alas. The male preoccupation with bouncy rubber balls strikes again. Then I noticed that odd thing about the proportion of the aforementioned jubblies in the title…
So, +1 for a name change.

(And ++1 for making more female-friendly art to attract women to Blender. I’ll let you know the second I understand women enough to appeal to them in any artistic way, or any other way, for that matter…)

As as I am a female and I do like butterflies and flowers. I also like blasting zombies and watching gory horror flicks, Maybe I’m not your garden variety female, but I believe that everyone’s tastes vary. Art is subjective, as are individual tastes. Some of you commented on boobs, some on hips and legs. Just as you would based on your preferences for a real female.

When I decide I like a certain piece of art, It’s generally a gut reaction. It is not based on the subject matter.

Unfortunately, more female friendly art probably won’t bring more female users. I’m a user because I’m a computer nerd/ artist who has expanded into 3d work. I’ve been using Blender on and off since it open sourced after NaN folded. I never really got the hang of it until 2.5. And I have to say that working with Blender now “feels” right to me. I’ve been able to model easily with it and have had few problems with it. Sure, other modelers have ngons and other features, but who has $3500 lying around for 3dmax? Not me. Blender challenges me and I like that.

I thought Sintel was beautiful and it made me feel something. I gasped as Scales was taken and cried when she realized she killed the very thing she was searching so long for. Buck Bunny made me laugh and cheer as he took out Frankie and the others.

Men, on the other hand are just as hard to figure out as we are. I’ll let you in on a big secret… Once you think you know us, we decide to change. Why? I HAVE NO IDEA WHY! It must be encoded in our genes.

Oops… forgot to give feedback on the image. I think the concept is good. And I think it could be made even better with a little adjustment.

I do agree that the image could be helped with tweaking the lighting and the use of GI. And I think the balls do have a 2d quality to them and I’m not sure if the balls are just behind her or surrounding her. Depth of field may help with that. Since I didn’t notice the balls reflected on her suit, I am assuming they are behind her. The “What am I doing here” isn’t entirely clear from the figures pose and expression and an additional tweak is needed here. The figure seems stylized to me and since the scene is a distorted version of reality, it does fit into the scene. Try a different arrangement and vary the sizes of the balls.

Hope this helps.

Men are easy. Ask a group of men to arrange themselves by rank and it will be done in 5 seconds max, based on resolving the simple question “can I take him?”

Women, if asked the same, will meander in endless circles, discussing with each other the situation for an endless amount of time, yet never coming to a conclusion, until they finally find a man to rip a new asshole for asking them to do something so stupid.

Oh, and I think it is a very good model.

HAHAHA. Sad but true.

Exactly the sort of thing that makes me feel that I’m in the wrong gender.

I will do it the day you grow up and stop patronizing female artists, seriously butterflies and flowers. who says the don’t make art like that. http://rebecapuebla.blogspot.com/ (<-and the plenty other female artists making art like that)

Dimitri keep rocking, I am a fun of stylization and I like to see people put some exaggeration here and there.

lol @ name… pretty decent work… imo the disproportion adds to the ‘effect’ kinda cool. Background looks 2d… i’d rather see bubbles than those plain-ish balls…

Really like the stile, even if pose is a little bit weird.

As all this guys are saying, the image miss GI. With a few lamps, you could fake it easily.

Awesome piece of art Dimitri. There are lots of comment on proportions, but I can see you have great anatomy knowlege, and if something is longer or shorter, then it is that wayb because you wanted it to be that way. 5* for sure. One with best womens I saw in zbrush and BA.

Untrue We would assign ourselves the rank we want #1 and then there would be a fight or some form of competition because everyone picked #1 , And all the women leave because they think we are being immature , leaving the guys wondering " where did they go? ". lol .

Hey JoseConseco! Thank you man.
And i love your sculpting.

WTF r u flooding!
