Banding, is that what this is called?


What ever it is, how do I fix it?

Check the hair around the face. On closer renders everything is fine. I’m using a uv texture. I’ve tried toggling pre-multiplied. Turning off OSA makes it go away, but the image looks like hell.:spin:

Have you tried using a different OSA filter? Like Mitch or Catrom.

I’ve been using Blender for a year and I have no idea what you are talking about:eek:

save a jpeg at like 40% quality, and you will see banding, where there is an abrupt color change that looks like a stripe. Usually too harsh a light is causing a wash-out, or a hardness/spec setting too high.

I just decided to use particles instead. The poly hair gave the look I wanted but I tried everything and none of it works.:spin:
