Basic Lighting question

Hi all,

I’ve created a basic mesh cube in Blender and then placed a camera inside the cube. I’ve then placed a light source outside the cube.

Can anyone tell me why, with the exception of “Spot”, all other
light types light the interior of the cube ?

cheers,
m@t.

because until you set them to, the others will not cast shadows

you would set non-spot lamps to cast shadows (this can be done on spot lamps too, I don’t feel like gettting into the reasons why you may more than: is slower) by pressing the ray shadow button in the lamp buttons, and by turning on ray tracing in the render buttons
