Bath Tub

This is my first “real” go at modelling. Done some test/play stuff before this. Let me know what you think!

give up on the radiosity? the light cover needs some subsurfing and maybe tweak the materials a bit expecially on the tile. also a slight bump on the tiles would be good - you hardly see a perfectly smooth tile - while the tile is smooth it still has variations if you get what im saying.

Lookin’ good buddy! The only thing that bothers me is the harsh bump on the ceiling. Also, maybe less spec on the ceiling too?

good work so far tho. Like the mat on the tile

The harsh bump on the ceiling is supposed to be stucco - I didn’t really like the Blender stucco so I did noise. Any suggestions as to what else I could do?

As to the radiosity - it lost a lot of my textures, and I was too lazy to recreate them, and it really didn’t add much to the shot. I may add it back later if I get some time to play with the settings.

Does anyone know how to permanently apply the wave effect? Right now I’m banking on the fact that this isn’t used in an animation. Ctl-Shift-A doesn’t work. Any ideas?

One thing I don’t like about it is the transition from the tiles to the metalwork - it just doesn’t seem real. Any suggestions?

I can’t see anything in there you could use a permanent wave effect on, but there are two ways, and the best is to combine them. Make it (eg) 50 frames long with startframe -51 and endframe 75 and lifetime to 75. Or, change the mapold and mapnew values to something like 20 and 20. Either way you have to spend time tweaking the values I mentioned and the speed to prevent the hiccup when the new cycle kicks in.

For the metal to wall problem. Do what the plumbers do and put a cap, a shroud, a cover or whatever it is they call it around the junctions.

The wave effect is how the shower curtain is done. I subdivided with randomization and then added the wave effect. Worked well, I think.

I take it the tub itself is subsurf, please delete the bottom plane so the bottom of the tub isnt round and flushes with the floor
