Beach Sunset

A modelled beach, sand and water were made using displacement modifier. Took me a week to make. A lot of effort on camera effects, applying jitter, glare, and a slight overall blur. I think the trees look a little too sharp, though, and not enough texture. I don’t think the ocean is wavy enough, and the sand shadows look really sharp, but I need your feedback. How is it? p.s. this is after working with Blender for 3 years, this is all I can do. It is pretty tough, especially for a 14-year-old.

I definitely like the glare, and how it interacts with the trees. However, the sand needs some work, especially the blocky shadows. I would suggest sculpting in more details, and experimenting with other textures.

I used a displacement modifier, so next time I’ll free sculpt. The subsurf mod was also on render 6, so I don’t understand how it was blocky…

Im assuming youre using a sun lamp, if so turn up the soft size and sample again to make those shadows look better

Yes a sun lamp, I’ll post the new pick soon… Thanks.
