Best book for professional workflow in Blender?

I’m looking for the best book about professional production pipelines using Blender. This includes organizing assets, doing proper previsualization, organizing sequences/shots, etc. Just a general professional way to organize and complete projects.

I am looking at two books in particular, and I was looking for advice as to which would be a better choice – Blender Production: Creating Short Animations from Start to Finish, and Blender Studio Projects: Digital Movie-Making. Any suggestions? As far as differences go, the former was published more recently, and that latter seems to apply to more than just short animations. Any other differences? Which is better? Just looking for opinions. Thanks.

I have both books.

I’d go with Blender Production: Creating Short Animations from Start to Finish, since the other book is a) more general and less detailed, and b) almost completely v2.48 oriented.

Also, all production files are free and available for you to inspect and learn from with the “Creating…” book, which is very valuable. The only thing I disliked in the book is the project’s topic and general lack of artistic quality of the characters used in the short movie project.

And if you are starting out with short/long film 3d animations in Blender, be sure to check out
