Best free web space provider

Anyone know a really good web space provider? I’d like one with no ads, and I’d like to upload by FTP.[/i]

http://www.breezeland.com

www.tripod.lycos.co.uk
It has 50mb, php, and mysql.

I too need a free webspace provider, or I can’t post my images up here(that’s my excuse, I’m sticking to it), but I need to know it won’t affect my (dad’s) computer in any way.

Check out stephen2000’s forum. His robbed cubefan of an excuse with his awesome attachment allowing forum.

I’ve sorted out some web space now, so I’ve got no more excuse :frowning:

Harharhar, VK. I wanted (and still do want) to post images, but I also want to have a website. It’s just a desire I have.

PS: If you’re going to say something to attract me, at least capitalize my name.
PPS: Where’s a free domain that doesn’t need FTP? I tried with one agent or whatever they’re called, but that didn’t work.

FTP clients require something I like to call intelligence.

VK, I thought that you said that a stoned, drunk, dyslexic monkey could use it. Are you insulting me or the dyslexic, drunk, stoned monkeys out there?

The AGENT wouldn’t work. I don’t know why. I swear, I was online, but nothing would work.

Ok. This sounds like a problem with your computer. Put it back in the box, take it back to whatever iMac store you got it from and go sit in the corner.
“It didn’t work” is NOT an excuse. If it didn’t work nobody would use it.

Don’t correct me. It’s a CLIENT. It connects to a SERVER. Thus the term client/server.

Linux and a good internet connection that your parent pays.

LMAO!!! …stoned, drunk, dyslexic monkey!!! just think what it would look like…!!!LMAO!!! that is so funny

IMHO, it most probably has something to do with AOL…

darn, now I’ll have to go wash my hands after typing that cursed name.

I signed up with brezeland but it doesn’t work :frowning: . Can anybody help me who signed up to brezeland?

If it’s the FTP that doesn’t seem to work, it’s probably because Breezeland’s FTP is 212.5.219.24. Most people (including me) would think that it would be ftp.breezeland.com or something easy to remember. Oh well…

Hope that helped…

EDIT: I just remembered that you can sign in to the Breezeland Control Panel by going to http://setup.breezeland.com/cp/id-login.php and typing your username and password. From there you can manage your files, email accounts and MySQL database(s), and a bunch of other cool crap.

The only downside is if you signed up for a free account and once the ad clicking system is up, you’ll have to log into your control panel and click a certain amount of ads a week to keep your account active. No ads will appear on your actual website though. I personally think it’s a really smart and effective way for Breezeland to gain money from advertisements without suffocating the users’ sites with pop-ups and banners.

[zealot]Nothing will wash the heresy of that-which-shall-not-be-named off of your hands! Onward![/zealot]

Well, I can now upload all my files onto the page, but I don’t know how to point the domain name to my web site. Also, I can’t seem to open the files I’ve uploaded onto the site. Can you help me there?

I recently got an email from Breezeland which I think explains what’s wrong.

Some idiots were using the php mail function in their accounts to do some mighty evil spamming. Curse them! :x :x

thats why many providers refrain from supporting any server-side code, such as php, asp, perl (especially, because of its security holes), etc.

it really sucks, but you cant do anything about it. shit happens.

Breezeland isn’t working at all now, I can’t even load up their home page…
