What is the best drawing tablet for under $100?
I would like something I can do concept art and texturing with The GIMP. I appreciate all recommendations.
I use this Adesso Cybertek. It’s got a big drawing space and it works fine for drawing/painting/sketching etc. I’ve had it for around 2 years and never had any complaints with it. You can get it for $84 on Amazon or less from other sellers it looks like:

In have a bamboo, I got the big one but that is a waste of money since you really draw with your hand on the table and don’t really move your arm.
Good: cheap and works pretty well
Bad: the pen is too short and small for my fingers to use the buttons and still have the stylus touch the surface!! This makes it almost unusable > so hold one first to see if you can draw and click the stylus buttons.
You might be able to find a good deal on a wired Wacom Intuos now that they released a Bluetooth version. I know you said under $100, but they’re a more professional version of the Bamboos and are pressure sensitive. Very nice!

I got a Wacom Bamboo Pen and Tablet for about $75 new. The pen doesn’t need a battery and is super light. It is a big pain in the ass to set up in Linux because Synaptic doesn’t have the drivers yet. Wacom tech support said it will eventually be in Synaptic. It works awesome in Windows. Haven’t tried it with Mac. It has about a 4"x6" drawing area. I wish it was about twice as big because then it would be easier to draw fine lines with more precision. It has two programmable buttons. It also has an eraser on the other tip but that doesn’t seem to work in any application.
So, super cheap, brand new for about $75 but with the above drawbacks.
