Is it considered good/best practices in Blender to model in a separate, dedicated Scene, for clarity and easy of viewing, and then referencing the meshes into a ‘Main’ Scene?
I think it depends on what you’re doing. I mainly model hero assets and props for renders and I like to create a new blend file for each new project. That’s just how I’ve always worked in order to reduce clutter in the outliner. For me, projects focus on individual objects such as guns, and if I want secondary objects like a table/gun rack for it to rest on, they’re simply modeled in the same blend file.
If you’re an environment artist who mainly works in a specific theme such as sci-fi and the art style is consistent, you might wanna gather various props in a single blend file and instance the collections over to different projects.
