Best way to create a "aura" around a character?

Well I’m trying to figure out the best way or maybe the easiest way to create a aura floating around the player. Think of it like a Dragon Ball Z SSJ. Maybe anyone can give me some bright ideas if you have done this before. :eyebrowlift: If you don’t understand what I’m talking about I can post a video of more detail.

A plane that’s behind the player, facing the camera, animating? I think that would work pretty well.
