A unge commit in the CVS today,Kind of i thought artist not interestd in developement might be interest. A new boolean algorithm has been commited. It suppose to be more correct but still not optimal. Not enabled in the CVS for build anyway, sort of very early developement.
Have a look: http://www.blender.org/pipermail/bf-blender-cvs/2004-February/001254.html
hope its good.
i still use 2.23 for all my intersecting needs

Thank god! I have been asking for this for so long now. Glad to see someone has finally taken this to the next level. This will make modelling so much easier when it is completed.

ditto Mr.BgDM
now only non destructable intersections and trim surfaces for nurbs and i am fine
anybody knows something about this nurbs code donation?
how does it get along?
claas
well, nurbana didn’t actually have trim nurbs either. It was on the to-do list.
i know! i only mentioned that i wish trim surfaces qwould make it in here soon. than a filet tool and I am very fine!!!
very welcome development of booleans.
I hope it is a big improvement.

I think for booleans to be really simple, yhou should select and object, hit the button for boolean, and select “Cut this”, then select the second object and hit a buttoln labled “Out of this”.
My 2, cough-infested cents
Boolean is now very simple, you got the minimum, to say AND OR NOT. You cannot get less than that. It the basic of logic operation [!]
XOR is missing though, but I really don’t see a situation where it could be useful.
Martin
where could I find a new build with the improved bools?
Exacly.
It’s not integrated yet (technical problems).
