Beveling off center vertex on a face

Hi guys,

Trying to bevel a vertex offset from the center of a face (middle cube)…to make a circle on the face as the end result. I get a rectangle when I drag out the off center beveled vertex. Is there a way to get a square instead, even with an off center vertex?

Thx.

Try using the circle command on that selection. It’s part of the looptools addon that comes with blender.

Yup, I did use the LoopTools > Circle as a second step to get a square. Was curious is there was a shortcut to get a square from dragging out the vertex from the initial step…like hold some key stroke or something.

Thx.
