Hi, I’m fairly new to Blender and having trouble using the Object option in the Bevel section (not the bevel modifier) of my curve’s Object Data tab. When I assign an object (like a Bezier circle) to the bevel, all my curves move as a group instead of individually. I’ve tried separating them, but the issue persists. Does anyone know how I can use the Object option in the bevel section and still control each curve separately?
…you mean to separate objects ? Hmm no problem here… two curves with circle and other curve as profile/bevel but see at the end: you do not have proportional editing enable ?
Hi, thank you for your response! I think I may not have explained it clearly. The curves are all within one object, and I don’t want to separate them into different objects. The issue is that when I try to move just one curve, all the curves move together (as shown in the screenshots I provided).
I did have Proportional Editing enabled at one point, but the issue persists even after disabling it. I hope this clarifies what I’m trying to say.
Hmm… re-reading your inital post (and maybe this also has irritated me):
…i also wonder what the bevel/profile curve mighthave to to with this…
I migth have missunderstood this completely: Do you mean your initial curve object with multiple “sub-curves” move all together or the change of the bevel-curve changes everyting. You wrote you have one object but then i see different laces in the outliner.
You may have to elaborate this to get a more suited answer.
I think that is the problem because when I switch to the Round option, I can move the curves freely and independently. So, I think that they move together because they all share one bevel object. However, the issue is that I cannot separate them and assign each curve to its own bevel object. (I am not even sure if that is possible)
Yes, this is what I mean.
There are multiple laces because I tried to separate them but didn’t work.
Well… if you move one curve then the array modifier moves all others… that’s the idea of the array modifier. If you want them to be individual after the general positioning is fine then make a copy (for backup), hide the original, apply the modifier and make some changes. If everyhting goes wrong you have the backup/original object.
Edit: Blender doesn’t allow me to apply constructive modifiers like the Array Modifier directly to curves. An error message popped up saying I have to turn it into mesh first.
