Bezier uv mapping (for applying a color ramp along the length)

Hi folks,

I’m trying to apply a color ramp along the length of an extruded bezier curze.

In the image below is an example i googled, but in my program i’m not seeing the “use UV for mapping” checkbox under the “texture space” dropdown. (i copied the nodes set-up in the image, although the mapping node seems to have changed in Blender in the meatime).

I read that i might need to first convert to a mesh, and i tried that, but to no avail.

Any ideas?
