BGE community support.

Recently I saw lots of posts from users about BGE capabilities and its future.
These posts made me think and have some ideas on how we can inspired blender and non blender users to use blender as a game engine.
One of these is if all of the community join hands together united to create a game that would be amazing,or if that’s impossible we could create some games which can be shown and put into a 2013-2014 BGE Showreel video ,this will help and keep motivated the community to keep making games.

Also I saw few people leaving BGE,personally I think that those people shouldn’t be criticized for the fact that they are leaving, instead we should support them because their work which they have done so far in blender is outstanding :RocknRoll:.

As for myself I will personally start planning and releasing few game demos hopefully before 2014 to help and keep up the morality of the BGE users.
Personally I don’t see BGE as an incapable engine because the difference between blender and the other engines is that they have money and we have a devoted community who use and love blender(hopefully everyone in here likes blender):D.
So instead of complaining the things which it lacks we should support it.

I think if you look in Monsters sig you will find a community project.

Perhaps the next BGE competition should be about short but sweet demos and showing off?

Sexy visuals challenge… Me gusta.

They’ve been tried before. Community projects rarely work out due to the subjective nature of games. Outside of Blender, there are some though such as 0AD and Tremulous (notice how far they’ve gotten). However, creating anything close to a AAA game requires a lot of time, energy, and resources. You need a team, meaning the BGE needs commercial development or it will always be behind the curve. It is somewhat of a chicken or the egg scenario but there are areas where the BGE can excel, for example in the Android or mobile market since computing resources and graphics are limited, if we can get support there.

@Mahalin@ I agree with you especially with the problem of making games for andoid or iphone, but we could make simple games which can have amazing gameplay for example Crash Bandicoot games are actually very simple forward games but they are still amazing game with amazing gameplay.

So what I’m saying is that simple games are better than nothing done :).

@Rubbernuke@ That will be very nice especially if there will be lots of people participating.
@Kamiyama@ :eyebrowlift:,glad that you are up for the challenge.
