hello,
I have released here a working version of a python script to track a Vive Headset with SAT’s OpenVR - VRPN bridge.
It is probably not useful as it is for a full game release, but it is very useful in prototyping/modeling/stage building to test and explore scenes and objects before to use them in another VR engine (like WebVR, A-Frame, Godot, … f.ex.)
It’s a bit hackish, but use the base blender game engine (no recompiling) and can be used elsewhere and expanded (for controllers f.ex.)

do you think you could do mixed reality ?
I intend on getting a headset eventually…
if you combine it with a videotexture plane/scene with the camera from the Vive or other headset with embedded camera yes, that could do “some” AR…
the HMD tracking is good, but can’t say before trying, as it also depends on the delays between cam and rendering for practical use
