Is there a programm that can replace the blenderplayer to make a standalone version for Windows and Mac for my game? I heard about Oggre and Crystal Space, are they oke? Or are thre any other options?
In especially Windows standalone I see the Dos-box openend and a whole lot of files put in the directory. I dont want my target audience to see all those files and Dos-box.
No, there’s no program that can replace the Blenderplayer for Windows and Mac outside of the BPPlayer (which, even then, uses the BlenderPlayer for actually playing the blend files, I think). Ogre and Crystal Space aren’t options - Ogre is a rendering system, and Crystal Space’s Blender plugin died a long time ago, if I recall. EDIT: It might be usable with Blender 2.49, but not 2.6.
By ‘Dos-box’ you mean console window? I believe you can hide that with a batch file, and if so, then you can use a preloading game scene instead of a batch file, which would start the game with the console, and then restart it without it.
The Windows runtime needs the dll files to function, and runtimes on all three OS’s need the Python folder. Most games require requisite files - either that, or rely on the user installing things (like DirectX or the Visual C++ Runtime) to run - sometimes both. Blender, fortunately, can run without installing requisite packages - just download the game (with the files) and play.
Thank you SolarLune for the cristal clear explantaion!
@ Agoose77 I’m sorry for putting it in the wrong forum. Maybe because of too much resources available I wasnt able to find an answer to my question. I know that probalby everything must have been asked but I find it sometimes very hard to find the right answers. And that is because there are too many threads (maybe) and because I’m not native Englis and dont know the right query to ask…
