Greetings all. I have been working on some Dynamics exercises as I learn Blender. I’m quite new, in fact very n00by-shaped as yet, but slowly catching on I was working with Dynamic Paint and using the paintmap to produce spreading, soaking raindrop footprints on a plane, plus the wetmap to introduce ray mirror so the wet patches really look wet.
The result has been fairly successful, it’s all working as planned except that BI will not render the material of the plane properly. It uses some random colour which I don’t remember setting, and ignores the current Material colour of the plane.
Blendfile: http://pasteall.org/blend/index.php?id=44684
I have screen shots (attached) showing the correct material colour and overlaid textures all showing up perfect in the UI, yet when rendered the plane always reverts to the same dull beige. In the 3d viewport the plane shows as black, which I’m sure is a sign of something or other being out of synch… but what??? it appears that the old plane colour is baked somewhere but I can’t remember or discover where. In the cache I find only bphys files from baking the particle system (raindrops). There’s a dynamic paint cache but it contains only the paintmap and wetmap (B/W images).
This is surely a st00pid n00bie error… can someone enlighten me? a facepalm would be such a relief at this point, I’ve been banging my head on this for 2 or more hours and getting nowhere.
