Cool!
I tried yesterday to sneak in BBB in a TVC here in sweden. But the decision was to use some other cartoon. Would have been just a short shot of a kid watching something on a tablet.
Always fun to see BBB it makes well for example video.
i hope they send a developer as well for unity integration
Why it’s always about BBB ? No one actually know there’s cool others movies that involve llama, giant robots, dragon or sheep ?
While you are right and those are all great shorts (by the way, don’t forget the elephant guys ;)), I think the visual appeal and instant recognition of a giant, slightly dumb looking, fluffy bunny is the biggest.
Our loved Llama and his penguin friend may ge the only ones who can compete with that.
Of course given a scenario where the flicks are screened for just a couple of seconds and additionaly are not the focus of the scene.
It’s the most marketable-looking movie out of the bunch. You take one look and you immediately get the idea that it’s a generic goofy cartoon animal movie like the many others that keep coming out every year. Spotting BBB somewhere shouldn’t be news anymore, it’s some of the most used placeholder content in the world.
In fact, it’s used so much that codec developers haveaccidentally tuned their software to encode Big Buck Bunny.
I even saw Big Buck Bunny playing on a TV in our church earlier this year (though I don’t know if they ended up seeing it as too mean-spirited for a Sunday School setting).
I think the Llama could be a good successor character, as BBB is around 10 years old now and Blender has advanced lightyears since then (Cycles for instance). He also anchors what might be the most family-oriented content ever made by the Blender Institute (so a lot of appeal there).
