im having trouble with the tut at :

whaen i do it, i get a tunnel, and the writer gets a 3d shape…

Did you perhaps forget this step?:
Enter editmode, select all (A) and press “Endpoint U” in the editbuttons menu. Do not press Endpoint V (they are uniform now), because it will ruin the tubular shape of our creation.

i did that step(pressed endpoint u).
somehow, the way they skin it makes it 3d…
Could you put up a pic of what you have (or mail it to me at dotdotdashh @ yahoo.com) so I have a better idea of what exactly the problem is?
