Big/Medium/Small Asset Packs - Questions about Installation

Hi all,

Pretty noob question but I’ve purchased the Cyberpunk asset pack from Big/Medium/Small. https://www.bigmediumsmall.com/cyberpunk

What is the best way to install and use this pack in Blender?

There are a lot of options to choose from when downloading and not much documentation/guides.

For example, is it necessary to download everything in the Blender file AND the FBX/OBJs, as well as the Update file etc.?

Any and all help is much appreciated.

The only things you need to download is the Asset Library and the update files.

You need to create a folder somewhere on your HD, perhaps in Documents, name it Assets or something similar. This is where you should start adding all the asset libraries you want to install.

Depending on how the structure of the zipped file will depend on how to install, I usually see inside either a folder named for the assets with everything inside or just the Blend and the catalogue text files… I would take, and inside your asset directory you just created, and add another call Cyber Punk, inside there is where you can drag and drop the Blend file and the catalogue files, and any other directories that may be included, like preview images, or sometimes there is a directory of all the texture files. If there is a folder already named with everything inside, then drag and drop that folder inside your folder you created…

Copy the location of where the Blend file is located…

Open Blender and go to Preferences… on the bottom of the tab, open File-Paths… under Asset Libraries, hit the + button, under Path, paste or add the path to the folder that contains the Blend and catalogue files.

The Update file should be just added in the same way. I would need to see what is in the zip file to say how to add the update…

Awesome, that’s really helpful, thank you! I checked the Update file and it appears like it’s all Unreal Engine files, so not necessary for Blender
