Alrighty, hey everyone, I’m new here and new to the Blender program. I’ve just started using it and I’ve been trying to figure out how you can model other character’s? I mean, like I will be drawing up some sketches of my own character’s soon, but I’m trying to figure out how to model certain character’s. Like, I’m going to try an model Spongebob Squarepants. Are their any tutorials or any tips I can get to help me with this?
I want to try an model him, are their any tips/tricks I should know? I’ve been wanting to get into this for a long time now, and I have my chance, so could anyone help me out? I’ve tried searching on google, but I haven’t found anything good enough that I could actually learn from. Can anyone help me out? :Z
Ok. You will need different pics of Spongebob if you wish to be accurate. The ideal reference pics (for anything) is dead on front, back, top, and a 3/4 turned view for perspective. You may have to draw them yourself, or maybe Google Image search will come up with it.
I would probably use the box modeling method. That is, you start with a cube (perfect in this case ) and then slowly add detail and shape it until you get what you need. Search the forum, many great modeling tutorials are around, Modeling Bongo by EnV is a great example.
You may not have to be totally precise with your modeling, because you could add the holes and such with textures later.
Hey! Thanks for the help, it’s greatly appreciated. Though, I’m going to need alot more time to work on him, I’ll post my progress in the other forum, thanks, that’s really appreciated! I hope to get through this an continue on too animating my own character’s, I’m already drawing some of my own. Also, thanks for the tips!
