Nice improvements, you are getting there. The likeness is starting to be apparent. What kind of hair are you going to do? Whether particles or mesh is planned for final, I would block something simple in there, just to be a placeholder at least.

I’m working in particles hair (I confess, some parts is more easy than I guess, but another…ouch !!!).
In this moment I’m “brush” the hair to give the desired effect

if you wanted to use particle hair but couldn’t use it because of the game engine, I highly suggest to use alpha planes to create similar hair. I for example get even better results doing it that way. If you however changed it to a solid mesh because of the style your pursuing, then I guess my comment was meaningless xD
